Jim’s story is one of tragic loss at an unthinkable magnitude, but it’s also one of profound beauty.
Jim’s son, Jordan, died unexpectedly at the age of 21. The month following Jordan’s death, Jim sought refuge from the oppressive feelings of grief on the rural west coast of Scotland.
After the publication of Jim’s book, I had the opportunity, in partnership with No Laying Up and Back Nine Press, to bring his story to the screen and share it with the masses.

We boarded a plane to Glasgow with Jim and a skeleton crew.
We embedded with Jim as he revisited the people and places that welcomed him with open arms after Jordan’s death. We were able to capture the full-circle nature of Jim’s return trip and shined a light on the friendships that ushered such profound healing.
For months in post-production, we wrestled with the best way to present Jim’s history, Jordan’s tragedy, and the highs and lows of our trip.
